License Processing
- Return to the DMV to process your license
- Fee: $22.50
- If you have an instruction permit, it will be hole-punched and returned
- You'll receive an interim paper license
- Your official license will arrive by mail within 10 business days
Insurance Reminder
The examiner will:
- Contact your insurance agent after passing the test
- All licensed drivers in your household must be disclosed
Vision Test
All applicants for a driver's license take a vision test. Beginning drivers must take the knowledge and skills tests.
The minimum level of acceptable vision for full driving privileges is:
20/40
If a driver must wear glasses or contact lenses to meet this standard, Restriction B will be placed on the license.
Drivers who do not meet the 20/40 standard may:
- Licensed to drive in daylight hours only
- Or, in some cases, be denied a license
- Required to submit a yearly examination depending on the nature of the vision problem
