  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Pass the written knowledge test

Document Requirements
  • Bring acceptable proof of your identity and Nevada address
  • Present any existing U.S. license, instruction permit or ID card
  • Pay the required licensing and testing fees
  • Have your picture taken
  • Pass the vision and knowledge tests. See
  • Driver License Testing

  • Complete an Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card (DMV 002):
  • Bring a valid Insurance and registration for the vehicle you are testing in.
During the Skills Test
What Happens
  • Examiner will inspect your vehicle
  • You’ll be graded on driving performance
  • Automatic failure for serious violations (e.g., speeding, failure to yield)
If You Fail
  • You’ll get feedback on what went wrong
  • You may need to wait up to 30 days to retest
