To get your instruction permit or driver license, you must pass the knowledge test:
Online via KnowTo Drive Nevada
- Available in English and Spanish
- Results are automatically sent to the DMV
- Use a computer with a front-facing camera...
- If you fail, you can retake the test the next day.
- If you're disqualified, you can retake the test after 24 hours.
In-Person at DMV Offices
- Administered on touch-screen computers
- Available in English, Spanish, and audio format

Interpreter Services
An applicant who has a lack of English or Spanish language skills may use an interpreter during a written examination for a non-commercial driver’s license, driver authorization card or instruction permit.
Interpreter Requirements
- Cannot interpret for family members
- Must present a letter of approval from a government agency, court, educational institution, or non-profit advocacy group
- Must submit a signed attestation at each test session
- The applicant is responsible for any interpreter fees

Skills (Drive) Test: The DMV does not allow interpreters to be present during any drive test.
