Make an appointment for the metropolitan offices. We are serving only customers with appointments for most transactions at our offices in Carson City, Henderson, Las Vegas and Reno.
Walk-in services are limited to general information and document review, kiosks, movement permits, plate surrenders and VIN inspections. Offices in Henderson, Las Vegas and Reno offer walk-in services on Saturdays for transactions such as original vehicle registration that cannot be completed online.
Rural offices are walk-in based and serve customers from their local area only.
Motorists age 65 and older have been given additional time to renew their driver's licenses. Print the extension letter to present to law enforcement. Your expiration date will not change. Renew as soon as possible. ID cards can be renewed online.
Extension for Senior Drivers 65 and Older
Previous extensions on other DMV documents have expired. Vehicles must have a movement permit or full registration to be driven on public streets.
Customers and Necessary Assistants Only - Only customers and handicapped assistants, interpreters/translators, parents of teen drivers and similar helpers will be allowed inside.
Social Distancing - The DMV observes social distancing and limits the number of people in the building to 50% percent of capacity. Please stay home if you are not well. Face masks are required.
Rural Offices - Rural offices serve local customers only. Do not drive from Las Vegas or Reno. Rural and commercial driver offices will allow ten customers or fewer at a time inside. Appointments are not required.
