NEVADA DMV TRANSITIONS ALL RURAL OFFICES TO APPOINTMENT-ONLY SERVICES

Rural customers must schedule appointments starting December 22

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced that all rural offices will now require appointments for all in-person services starting December 22.

“It has only been a month since our last batch of rural offices shifted to appointment-only services and we’ve noticed monumentally positive impacts,” said DMV Director Tonya Laney. “Appointments allow our staff to prepare in advance and customers to plan a trip ahead, allowing there to be a more seamless and positive experience. In-office wait times are also heavily reduced by not relying on walk-ins. Every transaction can be measured down to the minute while providing the best customer experience.”

Residents living in rural areas and visiting these offices will notice that appointments can only be scheduled one day in advance, which is to help manage availability and ensure offices are not going over capacity. Zip codes will also be required when booking an appointment to ensure that only rural citizens are being serviced.

As always, the DMV encourages customers to skip the line and complete transactions online whenever possible. Over two dozen services, including registration renewals, driver license renewals and address changes, can be done online. See a full list of available online services here.
