What is eNotice?

DMV's Department Transformation Effort (DTE) has launched its latest modernization initiative, which encourages customers to select online notifications on their MyDMV accounts for the quickest and most efficient communication.

The eNotice Initiative aims to highlight the benefits of enrolling in paperless notices through faster notification delivery, cost savings, and overall increased efficiency. In addition, individuals can feel assured as their notifications will be delivered to their email accounts of choice. All these perks are embodied in the tagline, “Get it Fast, Get it Digital,” which symbolizes the significance of the DMV’s online movement.

An electronic verification notice is communication sent electronically by the DMV to verify insurance coverage.

How often should I expect electronic notices?

You will receive renewal notices approximately 90 days before expiration of your driver's license or registration. As it pertians to insurance notification, you will only receive notice in the event of a lapse of insurance.

Why is DMV offering this?

The Department of Motor Vehicles is offering Nevadans the option to receive renewal notices by email as part of its ongoing effort to expand digital services, communicate more expeditiously, and reduce its carbon footprint.

What if I just renewed my DL/ID or my registration? Should I go ahead and sign up for an electronic notice now?

You may enroll in electronic notifications any time.

My vehicle registration does not expire for several months. Should I go ahead and sign up now?

When you sign up for electronic notifications, you will be emailed regarding your registration and driver’s license renewal. Additionally, should our system detect a lapse of insurance for any reason, you will receive electronic communication so you may resolve it immediately.

Will I still get a paper renewal notice if I sign up to receive them electronically?

No. Once you sign up to receive your renewal notices by email, you will not be sent paper renewal notices through the mail. In some cases, you may still receive a paper notice via U.S. Mail (or other delivery service) if your situation does not align with our paperless notice delivery options.

Why did I receive a notice in the mail even though I signed up for eNotices?

Paper notices are mailed out 90 days prior to renewal date. If you signed up for paperless e-notices less than 90 days prior to your renewal, you will receive a paper notice in the mail. However, you will receive paperless e-notices for future renewals.

Can I change my mind?

You may log into your account and change your preferences at any time.

Do I have to sign up to get an electronic notice?

If you want to get your renewal notices by email, you need to sign up and elect to receive electronic notifications.

What if my email address changes?

You may update your email address by logging into the MyDMV portal.

Do I create a security risk if I choose to receive my renewal notices by email?

The DMV implemented email notifications with security in mind. Email renewal reminders will not include the full driver’s license number, and the DMV does not share customer email addresses with private companies.

I signed up for eNotices but never received anything, why?

If you signed up to receive electronic email notices but have not receive anything, make sure your email is up to date in your MyDMV account. If it is correct make sure to check all folders in your email and ensure the NV DMVdmv is not blocked from send.
