NEVADA DMV ANNOUNCES AVAILABLE SERVICES DURING STATEWIDE NETWORK OUTAGE

MyDMV is back! Go online for the quickest service

CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is just one of several other agencies that has been affected by the network security incident that occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The DMV, along with the Governor’s Technology Office, is currently engaged in recovery efforts on all fronts to resume normal business operations.

As of September 2, 2025, all offices have reopened for vehicle transactions only, in addition to drive tests for non-commercial driver’s licenses (NCDL) and commercial driver's licenses (CDL), CDL and NCDL permit testing, and VIN inspections. At this time, all transactions regarding driver’s licenses and ID cards are temporarily unavailable.

The DMV will honor all cancelled vehicle appointments from August 25 – August 30 as walk-ins starting today, September 2. All walk-ins will be accepted for a two-week period during normal business hours.

All late fees incurred during this statewide network outage period will be waived.

“We understand this time has been frustrating and confusing for most,” said Director Tonya Laney. “Now that we are almost back to normal business operations, we encourage you to please utilize our online resources or kiosks first for the quickest service. If you can avoid an office visit, please do so as others may need help to do more complex transactions.”
