NEVADA DMV TO UNDERGO OFFICE RENOVATIONS |
Customers encouraged to utilize online services during this timeframe |
CARSON CITY – The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will begin renovations at its Carson City office starting July 28, 2025, with expected completion by the end of this year. The office will remain open throughout this period, with most of the work being completed during after-hours and on the weekends. “The current look and feel of the Carson office is quite outdated,” joked DMV Director Tonya Laney. “We want our office to be more inviting and comfortable to the public and our staff, so we are excited to see the finished product!” Customers can expect to see changes to the entirety of the office, including new flooring, countertops, wall coverings, and an expansion of the test room. During the construction period, in-person written testing appointments will be unavailable and Nevadans are encouraged to take the permit test online through the KnowToDrive platform. Those that have already scheduled written testing prior to the renovation will still be accommodated with a paper test and clipboard at a designated area within the office. In addition, there will be no information counter, however, staff will be available to direct foot traffic and assist with questions. “We ask kindly for patience and cooperation as we transition to a better office to serve our customers,” said Laney. “Those who do not need to visit the Carson office in person, please utilize our online services to avoid possible delays throughout this renovation period.” For regular updates, please visit dmv.nv.gov and DMV’s social media pages. |
