DMV Dash Pass

Larger DMV offices offer appointments. Others allow you to join the line from anywhere. See the options listed below.

Either way, Dash Pass uses your cell phone number to track your place in line and send you text messages or phone calls to keep you updated and call you to a window. If you do not have a cell phone, we will check you in with numbers or letters from your name.

Not all DMV offices offer Dash Pass. For a complete list of offices, see Locations. See Commercial Driver License for CDL offices.

Dash Pass Appointment

The Carson City, Las Vegas and Reno offices offer Dash Pass Appointments. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday at the Las Vegas and Reno offices.

You must book your appointment online. Appointments are not available for:

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early and visit the Information counter prior to your appointment. Make sure you have the documents required for your transaction. Fill out any forms in advance.

All customers must check in at the Information counter and be in the building prior to closing.

Cancel an appointment
If you are unable to keep your appointment and would like to cancel, please respond to the original confirmation text with the letter ā€œCā€ to cancel the appointment.

Remote Join

Many rural offices allow you to join the line by text, phone call or on the web from wherever you are. Use any of the options listed. You do not have to be present at the DMV office. If Dash Pass says it is unavailable, you must come to the office to check-in. You can then leave and come back when your turn is approaching.

There is no need to check in again once you get to the office - but please make sure you have everything you need for your license or vehicle registration. You must be in the building prior to closing. Simply watch your phone and the TV monitors for the last four digits of your phone number.
